When the going gets tough, we keep going.

Hey there! My name is Christian Small – I’m the proud founder and host of Unbreakable. First of all, I immensely appreciate you dropping by the site. Whether it was our podcast, a shared Facebook post, or a YouTube video that brought you here, it doesn’t matter how you found us. I’m just thankful you did.

I have been dealing with mental health struggles since I was an 8-year-old kid. As an adversity that still challenges me daily, addressing my mental health is a demanding and oftentimes debilitating task to conquer. But my situation is not special by any means.

With 450 million people around the globe struggling with mental disorders, I am no different than anyone familiar to this particular challenge. And while the number alone is staggering, the broad category of mental health on its own is just one of the millions of adversities that exists in society. Consider these statistics in the United States alone:

  • 40 million adults suffer from anxiety.

  • 99 million adults are overweight. 70 million adults are obese.

  • 15 million people struggle with an alcohol use disorder.

  • 12 million+ people are the victims of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner annually.

  • 43 million people are struggling with most, if not all aspects of their financial lives.

  • 8 million people suffer from PTSD.

The list is endless.

We’re not even mentioning those who’ve lost a loved one unexpectedly to an accident, to a disease like cancer, or to gun violence. Or those dealing with drug addiction, whether that’s personal use or use by a friend or family member. Or those who are struggling with their own self-identity, sexuality, or life direction.

In today's climate especially, there are so many different challenges that everyday people like you and I are facing. These adversities are realities, yet, they are frequently masked as we constantly endure a society that promotes perfection.

As I dealt with my own everyday challenges, I was searching for a community that could help me overcome them. I wanted a place to escape to – A place where real people spoke openly and authentically about real-life problems. A place where stories weren’t buttered up for social media or a place that didn’t churn out gimmicky 15-minute motivational videos from well-known figures to help me get inspired to take on the day.

I wanted a community that featured real people I could relate to, where real-life adversities were discussed in an open, honest conversation. Not something chasing perfection or a quick-fix solution.

So, I started Unbreakable.

Unbreakable runs on the belief that everyone struggles, and that everyone has a story to share about facing some sort of adversity in their lives. I believe dealing with and overcoming adversity is the story of our human race. I am driven to create the platform that allows these stories to be heard, while cultivating a community that will become a resource for all people seeking a way to overcome any adversity that challenges them in their own lives.

Unbreakable is for you and me, and for anyone out there who is looking for a place to feel like they're not alone. If you’re struggling, there's somebody out there who is too. It is my mission to help each and every one of you along your journey, to find a way around the roadblocks in your life, and to bring you real stories from real, incredible individuals who will tell you how.

If you align with Unbreakable’s vision, please help us by sharing our page with somebody you know who has a story to tell, or by simply tuning in to an episode. You can also check us out on our social platforms below.

For those of you who have made it this far: From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading. There is a lot of work to be done, but I can’t wait to show you what’s in store.
